Fusion cookingFor this entertainer’s kitchen, the owner wanted a strong Asian aesthetic merged with a warm Tuscan sensibility. To achieve this, varied cabinet heights and door panel styles echo Eastern architectural forms, with broad mullions reminiscent of the obi sashes on kimono. The countertops are in Labradorite, a deep, mysterious stone with flecks of color much like the darting carp in the owner’s koi pond. The Tuscan influence is seen in the solid, rustic table and the rich hues of the mahogany cabinetry.
