Sense and sensibilityIn this Georgian Revival home, designer Lisa Steinbach Schecter created a kitchen that is true to the period but also caters to the needs of modern family life. Lisa created a layout that would invite the family into the space, but not into the main cooking zone – which is separated from the rest of the room by an island. Period detailing, such as the reeded dentil molding, augments the beaded inset cabinetry. In contrast to the antique yellow of the main cabinetry, the cherry wood island is painted a pale green to match the granite countertops. read full article |
